Global team visited one of our many facilities run by Osaka YMCA, the Kisen Wai Wai mura. It's a beautiful location located fairly near the Kansai airport where you can experience what living in Japan back in the day would of been like. This little gem surrounded by mountains charmed us with its architecture and quaintness quickly forgotten by our tech filled lifestyles. We even had the lovely opportunity to harvest some winter vegetables grown on location. We learned that it's a lot tougher to pull them out of the ground when it's about -1 ℃ (frozen ground, frozen veg, and frozen fingers). Over night stays are available as well as day trips where you can have picnics in their outdoor cooking area with food that you harvested there.
大阪YMCAが運営している紀泉わいわい村にグローバルのスタッフがお邪魔させていただきました。紀泉わいわい村は里山での暮らしを体験できる施設になっており、つねに携帯や機械に囲まれた生活から一歩離れ、山の中で囲炉裏を囲み季節や自然の恵を感じられることができます。日本でしか味わえない日本建築や特有の知恵や空気感を体感できるわいわい村で宿泊も可能です。施設視察では我々は野菜の収穫体験をさせていただきました。−１℃で凍った白菜の外の葉（凍るのは当たり前ですが、見たことがなかったので）や固まった土と悴んだ手から感じ取れた大根の生きているという感覚がとても新鮮で植物や食べ物への感謝の気持ちを育てることができたように思います。 遊びに行くのにおすすみの季節は春らしいので、都会を離れたい時に一度訪れてみてはいかがでしょうか？
