Second Season for Social Enterprise

MMK selling their goods

The students at Osaka YMCA Business College (Tosabori building) have successfully completed the 2nd pilot phase of the Social Enterprise Youth for Causes program. The Osaka YMCA Youth for Causes program challenges students to use their business knowledge and skills gained through the business college course to come up with creative and sustainable ways to raise funds for a cause they believe in. MMK, one of the Youth for Causes teams, choose to donate their profits to support young orphaned students who have lost their parents to AIDS through our friends at Mogaung YMCA, Myanmar . Overcoming a number of challenges to their fundraising efforts along the way, team MMK successfully sourced, designed and sold their very own microfiber cleaning cloth & key holder product to students and staff at Osaka YMCA.

After completing their Youth for Causes project, they handed over the funds they raised to O2WK, a Wise Men/Women Myanmar Support Team who will be visiting Mogaung YMCA in the near future. At this meeting, the 2 groups had a chance to share information about Myanmar and the Social Enterprise program, and exchange ideas about how MMK's donation can help Mogaung YMCA's orphan support program. We wish O2WK a safe journey and hope they will do great work in Myanmar!
